Iginition source for electric choke in 1973 challenger?
« on: May 31, 2012 - 04:20:32 PM »

This is a schematic I found for a 1973 Challenger like I'm working on for my dad. It looks like a Dark Blue wire where the old "electric choke control" hooked up had a junction where a bunch of ignition hungry parts where hooked up. Where is this and is it a a good spot to run the electric choke on the holley i'm putting in?
Thanks!

Yes , there is a dark blue feed to the "choke Heater", you should be able to trace it near the ballast resistor or just connect into the blue wire at the ballast

I found mine by tracing the blue wire from the alternator back to the electrical block.  There was another unused blue wire coming from the same plug-in hole at that position.  It tested correctly.   You can also splice into that same blue wire comng from the alternator.

Enjoy!
