Brake fluid capacity from empty

What is the brake fluid capacity from empty?  I just finished replacing everything and need to fill from dry and need to know how much to buy.  Also what DOT does everyone recommend?

approx 1 lt/ qt , by the time you bleed the master & all the lines & waste some of it .
I use Dot 5 as it will not hurt the paint , you should not mix with Dot 3or4 but if everything is new no problem

Brake fluid capacity is probably different depending on if the car has front discs or not.  The OP never stated what he had.  So, was one quart enough?  I'm going with DOT5 and at $24 per quart, I don't want to buy a second bottle if I don't need it.  This is for front discs and 10" rear drums.

 I used dot 5 and it was less than a quart. All new stuff master cyl, front calipers, and rear wheel cyls, and soft lines. Steel lines were drained and blown out with air. Mine blead out fast but a quart should be more than enough.
