I really have no issue with the Charger as a car , the disappointment is the name , they could have called it a Coronet !! If you need a sedan it is a great car , it is probably the best Cop car available & I am sure they had that in mind when they built it as well . even the big Hemis get close to 30 MPG so why not buy the Hemi over the V6 , they handle brake & drive well . The look is good for a sedan ,

:iagree:  they should have called it a Coronet. It is a great looking/performing car...just the wrong name.

Awesome, if you have any hints for the rest of us trying to get our wives to do the same please share!  Seriously, I keep telling her that everything she's looking for in a car would easily be filled by a hot Charger.  Congrats, those Blacktop models are wicked cool.

I think its a lot easier if you choose your wife properly
Me...well I'm pretty good at subtle encouragement. I have been dropping hints for months, and she has preferred the challenger. I asked her to drive one (after driving the blacktop demo car first) similarly equipped with the v6, and she decided the charger drove smoother and didnt like the view out of the challenger (I made sure all the big window stickers were still on!)
Plus, I think she decided on her own that she would sorely miss the 4 doors.
We should pick it up tomorrow.
Sadly, Im trading in my SRT-10 and didnt get a lot in trade on it, but Ive been trying to sell it for almost 6 months, and they are a tough sell right now.

PS
The challenger v6 sounded louder inside, and I prefer the charger dash/interior. Just seems a lot nicer and softer. Its no muscle car, especially being a v6, but at least a lot of people might get out of our way or slow down when they see us in their rear view.
It looks like an undercover car  :burnout:

I'm not going to touch the choosing the right wife part!  For 'better or worse' after 29 years we're stuck with eachother! I think my wife is immune to my subtle hints at this point so I just spell it out and then she tells me how many ways I'm wrong!

I wish I'd been in a position to take the SRT-10 off your hands, I always wanted one, but the wife gets the next car whatever he chooses.  Cool that your wife chose correctly, beautiful car.

just got home with it. My wife is spending quality time in the driveway right now getting all her radio and seat memory settings just right. Dealer owes us floor mats and owners manual, and....the car was on empty when we drove away :villagers:
That wont look good on their five star survey after I complete it!

PS  my favorite feature is the ventilated front seats. I may be getting old, but with our weather that will be highly appreciated.

I forgot to mention, just yesterday morning my wife mentioned "hey, since youre having a hard time selling the truck, why dont we see what theyll give us a t the dodge dealer?"
I said sure, but ended up haggling all afternoon with the dealer over price, trade-in yada yada. I really wasnt prepared to actually buy the car. I thought we would just test drive a few, and check them out. In the end, even though I wasnt fully prepared, and I probably could have gotten a better deal, I think most of us realize how you can get a little worn down. Especially with the wife prodding you and giving you that look. We got it for around $29k, plus dealer fee, taxes and tag on top of that. Good price for sure considering sticker was almost $35k. I think they got me on the trade though. And also I got the $2500 rebate, so it was actually closer to $26.5k net plus fees. Probably only got that price because they should make a few thousand on my SRT-10.

And guess what...I noticed a cop parked next to it when we stopped for a late lunch at Red Robin. He looked jealous. His charger was the older model in white :roflsmiley:

I noticed the dealer put my old SRT truck up for sale on autotrader for $10k more than they gave me on trade. Good luck with that.
Theyre asking $27,900. I had been asking $22k for 6 months with no takers, and I went to the site to delete my ad. When I saw their listing, I decided to keep my "competing" ad on there for a few more days!
Their new policy is $10 of free gas with a new car. First time in my life, and I have bought a lot of new cars, that I didnt get the tank filled. Probably be my last purchase from that dealer. Think I will have it serviced elsewhere too. Sometimes, its the little things.

Heres a link to my truck, both the dealer listing and my old listing still there too:

Been looking at getting this grille. Its manufactured by a guy about 20 miles from me. What do you think?

WoW!   i like it. I too have decided to look more seriously at the charger. I think this years style is awesome looking. Really stands out and wants to express itself. Love it.    :2thumbs:
