Belgian 70 barracuda "cuda clone"
« on: June 19, 2012 - 12:10:08 AM »
hi all! i'm a 32year old gearhead from Belgium with one of few barracudas driving around in these parts! bought it around 7 years back for about 5000$, drove it for a year but decided to take it apart and sculpt it into a cuda  :grinyes:
project slacked a bit but with a new job meaning more time and more money on my hands i kicked back in gear and we're right on track!
here are some pictures!

Cool ride!

Looks like it was originally gold.

Had some rust huh?

What are your plans with it?

yes, yellow gold i believe it was called.
rust, you bet, like i said, i'm from belgium and it can get pretty wet here :) the ventilation holes were completely gone (you can see a picture where i fixed one side) also the area on top of that was crisp, the rear fenders are both changed now, new trunk panel, a few areas in the front, bottom of the doors, frontfenders look like they got shot at...luckily the coating protected the bottom panel so that one looks like new! unbelievable! but all that is about fixed now so the next step is prepare it for the allmighty 440 that's waiting in it's stand so i'll need torque boxes and i plan to reinforce all the welds because you never know, if that welder back in the 70's was having a rough week, i might end up sweeping my car together after the first corner... especially with all that added HP!
i got a lead on A-833 four speed manual gearbox so i'll be driving stick on this one, allready have the 8 3/4 rear axle and the 440 K member.
to finish off i really like the look of a lime green cuda with black vinyl top, 440 "hockeystick" decal on the rear fenders and centerline drags underneath so, for now, that's the idea!
not sure what to do with the hood though, original scoops, shaker or some wild scoop but definitely a black hood! now it just has the stock slant six hood with no scoop whatsoever...
