Dupli-Color Vinyl Paint (results)
« on: June 13, 2012 - 02:18:19 AM »
My interior panels were looking pretty bad and i had planned to have them restored (just dashes) or simply replaced. While at the store i ran across some Dupli-Color Vinyl Paint, figured my panels couldn't get much worse so for 6.99, why not!

I've only done one panel, it was by far the worst of the bunch and I'm really pleased with the results. Would new or professionally refurbished panels look better, yup, but this really put the life back into the panels and allowed me to focus on other things for the time being.

I've added a pic for comparison, probably the best 6.99 I've spent in a while!

That looks really good!.  I've never tried that brand.  I'd be interested to see how it holds up over time.  I've been using SEM paints and their adhesion promotor for problem plastics.  If you end up having issues with the Dupli-color, look into the SEM brand.  I've had good results.

Quite a few years ago I sprayed a front passenger seat from dark green to black to match my interior on a 69 Camaro I had, it never peeled and looked like a perfect match. I am almost positive Dupli-color vinyl was the paint I used. I would use it again if I had a need to.

looks good.

I used Krylon plastic paint on all my interior panles...good cleaning, light scrub iwht a scuff pad, and paint them.

Have held up great for the last 2 years or so.
