The bracket where the steering column goes through the firewall on the engine side came loose and the bearing assembly needs replacing. Can't find the parts anywhere. Any thoughts

When you say bearing are you refering to the white plastic bearing secured by a metal C clip that sits around the steering shaft sleeve? If so I'm pretty sure I have seen them on ebay. You could also call up dave at Roseville Mopar. He will probably have one and if not can point you in the right direction.

It's the lower steering colum bearing assembly. A metal cap holds the bearing and springs into place.

my 70 has no brg , just a nylon bushing held by a C clip . the only brg is near the turn signal switch , at the bottom you just center the column with the plate on the firewall & tighten the bolts

So apparantly....I have the 74 set up with metal cap and bearing. I still have the cap and bearing, so i am guessing i can just move the bearing back into postion and replace the metal cap that 'plugs' into the firewall?
