A-833 out of a 76-78 Aspen into a 73 small block challenger
« on: February 19, 2005 - 09:33:38 PM »
I have just procured the 4 speed that I have been looking for forever!!!!!    :driving:  It's out of a slant six aspen somewhere between 76 and 78 I don't now when!  (Is this an OD tranny?)  I was wondering what if anything I would have to do to get my new tranny into my 73 chally!  bellhousing swap of course but what else?  tailshaft swap?  if so where can I get a cheap tailshaft and where can I get the pedal assembly and shifter assembly and all that other good "4 speed stuff"? Thanks for your input as always.  P.S. by the way, anybody wanna buy a built smallblock 904 with a shift kit with less than 150 miles on it?

Umm Yeah
it is a OD tranny
the A body is the short shaft version & basically will not bolt into a Chall ,, the short shaft version is harder to find & usually is worth more though so you may be able to trade , or the main shaft & tailhousing can be swapped , but it shoul dbe easier to find a tranny than just the needed parts
Passon Performance Or Brewers can help with the needed parts

the only source for them I know of is Passon  http://www.passonperformance.com/
I could trade you trannys but shipping would probably make it redundant
