    7290 yoke????

    So I went to put the driveshaft out of my '74 chally with 489 case 8 3/4 into my '73 chally with 489 case 8 3/4 and my son sais "something doesn't look right"...turns out it has a  7290 yoke. 

    So just wondering if this isn't just a strength upgrade done by someone(previous owner was building a drag car with it), then is it possible this rear came out of a big block car or something more special than my 360 and 340 cars.

    The '74 had a 2.76 geared open carrier... and the '73 has a 3.23 geared sure-grip.

    Precision has a conversion U joint 7260 one way & 7290 the other to solve that situation

    Actually it can't be a 7290, because the u-joint for that is a good inch to narrow still.

    All it sais on the yoke is spicer...so is that a 1350  u-joint??

    Okay, got it figured. I was measuring full u-joint width, not clip to clip.  Also a little confusing, because it turns out the other car was reversed. It had a 7260 diff yoke and 7290 driveshaft end.

    I guess that's a good thing ...now I have a full 7290 setup.
