Front tire size with alterkation
« on: July 22, 2012 - 08:11:35 PM »
I have searched for a while and was wondering what sizes people are running with their alterkation set ups. I am finally getting close to the point where I will be ordering some Team 111, Lt-111 wheels in 18 inch
http://www.team3wheels.com/lt_iii.html.

I did find this from Reilly motors ports

But was wondering if anyone here is pushing the limits and running anything larger.

Quite a few guys are running up to a 275 IF you've got 3 piece wheels and nail the backspace perfectly. If you are planning  on off the shelf wheels you may need to stick to RMS recommendations. Also, wheel size may need to be 18" if you push the widths without hitting the UCA.

I plan on custom wheels either way was just hoping for some insight into. Back spacing, or if the fenders need to be rolled or whatever else may need to be done lol

Wow. I though one of the advantages of this set up was wider tires. I have 275's on my "stock" suspension, minor fender rolling only.

I agree...Wow. I had a 15x8 with 4.75 backspace on my stock set up. I thought the AlterK had relocated pivot points for the upper arms which would allow a slightly wider rim set up. Tire clearence could still potentially be an issue with either set up, but there are a few guys on here with 275 fronts.
