vapor lock and how to get rid of it

I think I'm having vapor lock issues. After my car gets to 210 is sputters and I can hear the carb boiling over when the motor is off. It wreaks of fuel. I have a rpm intake with a carb spacer made of wood and the fuel line temps get up to 170*. Should I wrap the lines?

Does the RPM intake have an exhaust crossover going through the intake?  If so, you'll probably have to block it off.  There isn't an easy way to block it off though.  I think there is a MP gasket kit that comes with metal plates to block off the passage.  The problem is that the intake needs to be machined to accept the plates.

There are also some aluminum plates that bolt between the carb and the intake that deflect some of the radiant heat.  The plates extend out past the carb on all sides.  I'm not sure of the manufacturer.

Vapor lock is different , it is liquid gas turned to vapor inside the fuel line preventing the fuel pump from pumping fuel .
 Your situation is heat mixed with more alcohol in the fuel boiling inside the carb & flooding it , this article should help .

Do you have a vent line? Do you have a vented gas cap?I ran the vent line into the frame rail and a vented cap I had no issues with vapor lock.

The problem with the Felpro small block gaskets is that the exhaust crossover will burn though within a few month of normal opperation.

i don't think my gas cap is vented. it's the original gas cap that came new with the car. whe i turn the car off, i can hear the carb puffing from the boiling fuel. not to mention the stench of gas. I'm not sure if the rpm intake has the exhaust cross over or not.

Fel Pro sell print-o-seal gaskets with a steel core. Same part numbers but has an  S at the end of the number. Without the seat core it can burn open in mins at wot

210 is hot. My 340 runs 185 with no thermostat and mid 80's with in the mid afternoon sun. This is after running on the freeways at speed. Runs about the same temp on the freeway but I don't seem to notice the gauges much till I slow down on the secondary roads

Can anyone confirm if the air gap has the exh cross over or not?

I doubt it , that is why it is an air gap
there would be a small port crossing the intake in the middle between the intake ports .
 TA this point I do not even know what engine you are working with

Have you thought about a carb spacer? I don't mean to bring up something else but does anyone know if using a spacer on a dual plane manifold will hurt performance... Or would he be safe with one of the ones with the 4 holes in it?

so, i broke down and took the car to the dyno shop to tune. the fiddled with the carb, worked the timing which was all messed up. pulled 410 hp at 5.5k rpm at mile high altitiude. car runs like a champ and my heat problem is gone. the way we ran the gas line is too close to the headers, so they recomended a different line route. but, they said with an electric fuel pump, we could easily manage the vapor lock.
