I have a bunch of door ding stories from over the years. The thing that always floors me is the atitude people have. One lady said that it is just part of car ownership, as if it was somehow my fault that she hit my car with her door.

Yes, that attitude begs for payback. I had a buddy in high school that had more than a little outlaw in him. He had a nice but far from pristine 64 Chevelle in red with a 327 (it would've been close to 10 years old at that point). Someone pulled up and wacked my friend's passenger door with their driver's door as they got out. Initially, he wasn't too upset but did ask them if they were going to pay for the damage. All he got was some guff about how it just another ding on a used car and no one would notice anyway. Wrong answer. He kicked in their driver door. The other guy starting spluttering but my buddy just told him it was a another ding, then drove away.
