did you  degree in the cam? 120 psi @ cranking speed is not that bad for an 80k short block!  . however, if you advance the cam 4-6 deg. your cyl pressure will  rise sooner. dynamic compression is what counts. that will usually indicate to much cam for the static compression ratio you used ...not to mention weak ring seal and blow by losses aren't helpin.. also, total ignition timing is total ignition timing. it is the curve, that makes it get up and go. a properly set up distributior will make -all- the differance in the world.
