3 point seat belt Questions???
« on: August 12, 2012 - 02:11:10 PM »
I have a 73 Dodge Challenger and I have some seat belt questions. I want to put in a 3 point front seatbelt system in the front seats of my car. If some member has the XV motorsports seat belts, out of stock for almost a year,  they are re-badged Werl belts (available through Wesco performance) or the Werl/ Wesco performance belts, I have some questions. If I buy the Werl/ Wesco belts I need to know what is the proper rigid sleeve end length (8 or 11 inches) and the sash guide length (standard or 7 inches longer.) and a retractable length of 120 or 140 inches. If you have either of these belts you know what I am talking about. Also, if you have the XV belts can you take a picture of the area where the sash belt bolts to the area above the window. If you can answer any of these questions please reply. Thanks everybody.

I tried to buy the XV ones as well but ended up buying from Wesco. I used the 3 Point Retractable Seat Belts with Long Sash Guide (Part WELR-L). Length is 140 inches and the rigid sleeve length is 11 inches.  I have a roll bar in my car so the extended sash guide is a must (friction of the belt sliding around the bar doesn't allow them to retract easily and rubs the paint off the bar).  But even if I didn't have the roll bar, I would still order the extended sash as they seem to be more comfortable.

XV shows mounting the retractor and the seat belt end together at the existing floor anchor location.  Because I do not have factory seats in my car, they hit the retractor when mounted in the factory location.  I bought the hardware kit and mounted mine 5" back and used the factory location to anchor the seat belt end.  I took the pictures with my phone so they are not the greatest. Let me know if you would like to see anything else.
