I do believe they made it so that it was non visible from behind the louvers.
Seeing the shiney trim under the louvers would really stand out.
You would think they would have just painted them black.

I have a 69 Grand prix.  The vinyl top grand prix's in 69 came with textured window trim.
I want to paint it black and would like the trim to be the textured kind.
Can't find a set for a good price.
Pontiac made some 100,000 of these trim sets and I can't find a good set.

Perhaps Mopar was copying some GM ideas.

I agree.

What is surprising is that there wasn't an equivalent for the Challenger, especially considering that the Dodge Chargers were available with a textured trim.

One can only imagine the additional tooling cost for a dimensionally identical set of trim that is:

- made of aluminum instead of stainless steel

- has a texture applied

- has a separate paint treatment

No surprise that Chrysler was having some financial challenges back then.....

There's nothing wrong with the set that I'm offering, other than they don't fit on my R/T or 'Cuda convert, so parts for those take priority.

Haddixj appeared to have a partial set and I'm in need of the top straight section to complete my own partial set.  So if anyone has that section they'd like to sell...

Vlad is a stand up guy.  I would have no doubt the trim is as advertised!

Glad you found a set.

Finally found a set! Yes!

It does surprise me that the challenger does not have an equal part.
I guess I always assumed the chally had the textured trim for louvered cars also.

Yeah, I bet it would be very costly to tool a new set.

You said aluminum.  Are these textured pieces made of aluminum instead of the stainless steel?

New one to me. Makes since though.

Got the set in the mail yesterday.
Great shape!

Thanks Vlad!

Another part to check off of the list.
