Distributor - Performance Distributor DUI - Anyone running one?
« on: August 20, 2012 - 08:15:48 PM »
Hello all,

Anyone running one of these Performance Distributor DUI type distributor?  http://www.performancedistributors.com/dodgebbdui.htm

Been looking at MSD, Pertronix, and Performance Distributor DUI ....

Any thoughts?  Experiences? you guys care to share...

I have a 71 Challenger 440 mild build and thinking of replacing my current distributor (electronic) for the DUI style distributor.

I appreciate any information or experiences you can share.

Ted

My hesitation is the HEI was never very good above 5000 rpm . Others have liked the system .

You can use a Mopar dist with a GM ECU as long as it is attached to a heat sink , this would give the a better way to do it with a fully adjustable dist , or have you looked at the new Rev N Ator ECU with a rev limiter built in .
Panama is awesome , best thing I could have done , absolutly no regrets , come visit sometime !!

Seems to work well . not sure how high they revved it , kinda tall & unsightly though

I'd probably go w/a CHrysler unit with a Rev-n-ator.

I'd do a DUI on a Small block so it's tucked away in the back, but in the front...a little too tall IMHO.
