Painting my dash cap

Hello All,
I want to paint my dash cap and was wanting to know if there is a good type/brand to use. The cap is black, but seems to be fading. I didn't want to paint it because of the fumes, but it looks bad the way it is.

I would say paint wouldn't be my first choice.
I would try SEM aerosol dye. Landau black should look good.
