"last driven in 1981" doubt it will be driveable, engine may be stuck, trans??,seals?? brakes stuck?? Needs a total resto-paint, interior etc. but if the body is solid maybe $6-8k.

That's an awesome car.  Vintage late 70's.

Buy it if you can, looks like a 70 340 Cuda I recently found buried in a garage.

Looks like a very soild Barracuda. With a little time spent cleaning her up and putting some hard labor in the mechanicals to get it running i would sure as hell drive it the way it is for the time being  :bigshades:

Jamiez, Thanks for the de-code.

All,
As mentioned, I already have one money pit - but could just drive it but .... I can live with a lot of things but that Interior is way too hideious .. I would have to address that.
I was kinda hopin' it would be valued at a bit less but I think you guys are right 6k + looks about where it would go. When you think about it, freshen the Engine 2k, likely Trans 1k, restore Paint includ underhood and jambs - the whole deal 10k maybe less,  Brakes, Wh&tires 1.5k, Exhaust no doubt $400.ish, Interior $?, gawd knows what else with me doin' most of the work.
The car all done and nice one would be doing good to get 20 -25k out of, not that I would be buying it to restore and sell - I might as well buy one already done. If I could get it for 3 - 3.5k I would like it more but I think it will go higher and the old doll needs the cash .... Wish it was a 4speeder.

"I noticed on the dash, left hand panel.  There’s the light switch, wiper switch, dimmer; what’s the fourth switch in the lower right hand side?    The fender code breakout doesn’t mention a rear defrosts or Rallye lamps and she’s not a convertible" --- h-lites, panel dimmer, wiper, rear defog.

See if you can pull back the carpet (floorpans) and trunk mat. They are usually the worst areas. Also crawl underneath and see what the cancer, if any, is like in the usual places, wheel wells and fender bottoms.  Mechanics is nothing. the real money is in body/sheetmetal. What state is it in? If the rest is as nice as what I see and have seen Id seriously think about it. Hell if you're near me Id help ya do it on the cheap. Bob

Ok, maybe ditch the wire wheels (I say maybe because my car came with similar ones, Keystone Sunspoke III versions, so I kinda like them.) but as far as the car itself, it looks solid, at least what you can see.  No rot bubbles noticed on the quicky look on the pics here.

I dunno, I would love to see what that car looks like unearthed  and cleaned up with a set of Keystone Klassics or Cragar SS rims.  I doubt you'll be driving the Vette everyday, maybe you will who knows, but I would clean it up and make it driveable and call it a day.  Yeah, it'll need seals and what not. Carb rebuild and what ever gaskets that are dripping but with 55k miles, does it really need a whole engine teardown?  I don't know, I guess I have lower standard.  :)

Nice find though!  :grinyes:
1972 Dodge Challenger Rallye 340, AT, Code TB3=Super Blue, SBD=8/17/1971.  Yes, a Rallye without the fender louvers from the factory because of the body side molding option.

Pic #2 and 3 of my ARII 1/24 scale model car
