    I have seen them both ways. I think it depends on the power booster manurfacturer. there was two differant companies chrysler used

    In 1970, all power brake cars had a black booster.  The master cylinder was installed onto the booster and then the assembly was sprayed gloss black.  The plated boosters came about in 71.  71 Hemi boosters were still painted black though.
