Hello Cuda-Challenger.com! If you are within reasonable driving distance to the Chicago area, well, there is a great 3.5 mile road race track called the "Joliet Autobahn Country Club" located just SW of Chicago. This Sunday, Oct 7, 2012, there is an open "welcome" for all MOPARS to come the the Autobahn and watch wheel-to-wheel road races, which will start by about 8am and run throughout the day. The Chicagoland Mopar Connection club has been invited, but ALL MOPARS can join in and have your own designated parking area. Price is ~$15 (to enter the race site). BUT, the BEST news is that at lunch time, for about 30 minutes, all the MOPARS can take lapping runs around the race track (at moderate speeds) for FREE!.. and have great photo sessions the same time!
But wait, there's MORE! Your's truly -- Mopar Mitch (Hemi-Orange Challenger T/A autocrosser) will be the official "Pace Car" for all the road races throughout the day! Now... how cool is that!
Fellow MOPAR Road Racer Brian Garcia owns a really cool vintage '67 B'Cuda fastback that he campaigns in the vintage GT-1 Trans Am class...he's also current President of the hosting road race club -- North Suburban Sports Car Club (memebr club of the Midwestern Council of Sports Car Clubs which is the main organization of these events, including hi-speed autocrosses held on the Saturdays before the Sunday w2w races).
So, for a different "view" of the races, and not just going straight as in drag races, come on out for a great fun-filled social event!
www.autobahncc.com (look up the track on the web)... you won't be disappointed!
I hope to see some of you there!
T/Ake care,
Mopar Mitch
