early hemi in cuda?

has anyone ever seen a cuda or challenger with an early hemi installed? my old man has a 354 hemi laying in the barn and he suggested that it'd be pretty cool to put that in my cuda. i think its a cool idea but didnt know how hard it would be and also if a shaker could be fitted for it. so anyone ever seen this done before?

THERE IS NOTHING LIKE A HEMI, WEITHER YOU HAVE A 1st GENERATION, 2nd GENERATION OR A 3rd GENERATION, YOU WILL NOT GO BACK TO A 318-440 AGAIN EXCEPT FOR THE 426 HEMI

Sure, right..Try taking off the caps lock next time, looks like your yelling....Early Hemi's belong in old Rat Rods. Anytime I have to remove the brake booster or Heater Blower motor (426) to adjust the valves, it belongs in a Rail...

just like the new generation engines in our  muscle cars (they dont belong there ) . if they look out of place /seem out of place ----> its out of place

i would sell it and save for the engine of your taste and put it in. i have seen many people butcher purfectly good muscle car just to be different or thinking it hasnt been done before.
then car ends up never completed because the money  or the skills arent there to make something work  that takes reworking the wheel to work . just about everything has been done to our cars and mopars . mopars are rare / hard to come accrost these days , parts too.   these cars are expensive in many ways ,   hemis are expecially expensive to build when you could build a b/rb stroker for half the cost .
 the only benefit to your idea is the WOW factor .  IMOP

Don't do it, just please don't do it.  Old Hemi's belong in period correct cars. I know they are cheap but they just don't look right

I'm considering this right now for my 70 Challenger.
I have access to everything and the ability to do it.
The 426 is stupid expensive and I really don't care if other people don't like it ...so....maybe the 354 is goin' in.

I'm collecting a few bits and info and plan to do the swap when the car is stripped for paint.

Well I am of the mind if its you car and thats what you want to do then do it. I disagree about the new Hemi's in vintage Mopars and if I had a car without a drive train I would definitely do it, especially since a 5.7 is going for sub $2k these days. I have seen vintage Hemi's in E bodies and B Bodies and while It isnt my taste, I don't hold anything against those who do it. I have a 56 Desoto 330 Hemi in a 52 B3B pickup and love it. Granted that's very different than putting one in a muscle car but it is what it is. Having said all this, I would say this based on my own experience; the gen I hemi's are very heavy, parts are hard to get and they do not make power like a more modern engine. If you are going for the look, then you are good, however if you are intending to drive it often you might want to consider going conventional engine or even a Gen III.

A.   Hemi is a hemi  . You will get a lot of looks and questions  .    Even head scratching but ,that's ok.  I. Think that the mother of all engines the HEMI.  Would look good any were  .  Even in a Volvo  have fun . Can't. Wait too see photos
