Tire cleaner and blackener
« on: May 11, 2013 - 12:58:33 PM »
What do you guys and gals use to clean and shine your tires? The guy at the tire shop says some products will ruin tires "in about 4 years".

To clean the white walls or RWL's, I use Wesley's Bleach White. It does a great job. I don't use anything to shine up the tires on the Challenger.  On my Durango with 20's, I use Meguires tire foam. The low profile tires look good all shined up...classic looking tires not so much IMO.

White letters are in. The car is black and the tires look a shabby with no shine against the black body and new rims.

The bleach white will clean the tires.  The tire foam will shine them up.

I use an SOS pad on the white letters and Meguires spray on the tires.

I've been told several times that a lot of the shining products for soft materials wick moisture out of the material itself. No idea if it's true or not.

:iagree:  I have heard that a while ago and maybe still, that brake fluid was in the "shine or black" products. And that
we all know would eventually damage the rubber sidewalls.
If I cant fix it, it's broke
