and FEMA? Where do I begin? I have a lot of experience witnessing the results of their efforts. Their cause is a noble one, for sure, but as is usual in government, the execution of their duties is usually deplorable, and incredibly wasteful in the end. As a property manager, I have many times witnessed current or former tenants ripping of the system for untold thousands of dollars, when I never witnessed any losses of theirs at all.
If you are living in or near the disaster areas, you will be witnessing it yourself over the next year or so. Many of your neighbors will be putting in "claims" for losses they either never suffered, or they will grossly over exagerate. Much like the insurance fraud game people play, but the difference with FEMA is that their agents in the field often cooperate in the fraud by going door to door practically looking to encourage people to produce claims for assistance of all kinds. Trust me. I have seen it with my two eyes.
