Has anyone put a gear vendor on a 727 transmission? I so how do you like it?

User Carlwalski (who doesn't post very often any more), did that setup. He didn't like it, but he was after a very specific feature that Gear Vendors apparently couldn't get to function properly (automatic split shifting).

I have one on mine for 8 years, over 50K miles and over 100 quarter mile runs. The GV is bullet proof. I only had to replace one $45 speed sensor part in 8 years. Best improvement I ever did to the car. Ya can't beat cruising the highway 75 MPH at 2500 RPM with a 3.55 rear.

Do you just leave it in low when you are racing ?

I have also done the GV install , great improvement & bullet proof , you can leave it in low for racing & just flip the switch if you need more RPM at the top end

I put one behind my 727 3 years or so ago and it is the best improvement I have done. Very minimal tunnel clearence needed. You can leave it in AUTO mode and it will shift into overdrive by itself at approx 45mph or put in in manual mode and either leave it off or flip a switch and engage overdrive whenever you want over approx 25mph.
