440 Six Pack - Vacuum Signal Question ....
« on: November 07, 2012 - 11:44:02 PM »
hey ...

Just a quick question ...

If I were to disconnect the vacuum source to the end carbs, would that prevent them from opening while driving?

I was just trying to figure a way to maybe bump up the highway MPG when going for a long distance run.

I recently ran the car on two trips, both were around 200 miles one way.  I got right around 11.5 MPG running 70 MPH, with 3.54 gears.

Are there any dangers in removing vacuum source?

Thanks
Bill

well it will open a vacuum source into the venturi of the center carb so you might want to plug it instead . , it might increase the ,milage a little depending how you drive , the milage seems low to me but you are revving fairly high with 3.5 gears
