Air Cleaners - options for a 383 4 Barrel

My '70 Challenger R/T 383 Mag currently runs the un-silenced type air cleaner.




I've got an idea in my head that it's getting nowhere near sufficient air, and I'd like to try something else. I'm keen to give something like the B-Body Air Grabber type open-air filter. Anybody done something similar? Any clearance issues with an R/T hood?





I know there are tons of aftermarket style cleaner/filter set-ups - but 99% are chrome, and I hate chrome. Would prefer to use something factory original like the Air Grabber set-up, even if it's not original for my exact car.

Get one for a 440 as they sit lower than a 383 version.

I got my base plate from here..... http://www.hybrid-fiberglass-solutions.com/ as I wanted it to seal to my T/A hood.
