Front Suspension Tear Down Questions.
« on: November 20, 2012 - 07:26:00 PM »
Hey Guys,

I am tearing down my my front end and I have a couple of questions.

The first pic is of the Pass side LCA, is it properly seated on the pin??? :dunno:

The second pic is of the Pass side strut rod, when I pulled the nut off, there was a second nut on the strut rod acting as a spacer (it does not thread on).  I am guessign that this is not right. :clueless:

Thanks,

Jason

1st pic's looks ok, 2nd pic not.  Are the threads messed up on the strut rod?

The goal never changes - Stop the 60' timer with your back tires

The first pics looks dangerous.  It really looks like the LCA pin is only engaging the bushing half way.  There is a metal collar around the bushing that the step in the pin should be pressed up against.  That needs attention!  :2cents:

Thansk for the input guys....

Yep, looks liek the threadds are bad on the strut rod.  No biggie, its bent anyway!

I think this will be interesting, I can't wait to pull it apart and see how far the pin in is in the bushing.  :faint: I will post pics. :picture:

Certainly will fix it!
