I would check the ignition timing to make sure it is not too high.  Rule that out first.

good point! have experienced my car not wanting to start when hot, and found out too much initial timing advance.

If as the others have mentioned about the carb boiling over and dumping into the engine, you might want to check your oil.  :2cents:  Not sure how much gas your engine has dumped.

My Thermoquad had an internal leak issue where the air horn meets the O-rings in the main well.  It looks like the air horn was dropped at one point damaging the air horn so it wasn't sealing so gas was dumping into the intake and making a hard start condition.

I checked the oil and I was almost a quart over and the oil was thinned out and smelled of gas.

Maybe try different degrees of gas pedal being pushed down, when starting.

I'd try 1/4 throttle first.

Carbs are different as far as how easy they startup, whether cold or hot, as far
as throttle poistion, how many pumps, etc. ie if its warm, then pumping the gas peddle
at all may be flooding the carb.
