P315/35R17 Possible on Challenger? Pic/diagram included
« on: December 02, 2012 - 09:46:10 PM »
Hey all, Love this forum! Great info here, Ive been workin on my challenger off and on for 12years!! And now im excited to say I have finally come to a point where I must choose some new Wheels for my car! I have the factory rear end (8.75") Dr. Diffs 1" offset and 12"wilwood disc brakes! Please see my attached diagram. I would really like to fit Mickey Thompson ET street radials on the back. Do you think it is possible? I have not decided on rims quite yet, But I am certainly going to run a 17" wheel. Thank you for your input and advice!! Very cool site!! Thanks

I have  315/35/17's on the back of my Challenger with Dr Diff's 1.5" offset  :2cents:
Might be too tight to the leafs with the 1" offset.

Im using sumitomo HTR Z 315-35-17 on 10" wheel with 6" b.s. and the mopar offset kit (e body 8.75 axle). Plenty of room both ways.

a 325 fit on my cuda granted its a 15"rim but the width and diameter of the tire is what matters it should fit no problem. http://www.cuda-challenger.com/cc/index.php?topic=89074.0

Thanks for the replies so far guys! Keep em comin!

So Ive done some math using this site:
http://www.rimsntires.com/specs.jsp

Using the tire (315/35-17) as the example and my figures in the first pic and a 17" with a backspacing of 7" and offset of 1", the measurements I get
are:
inboard clearance (tire and leaf spring)= .425"
outboard clearance(tire and quarter panel skin)= .300"

What do you think? Too tight?? :clueless:
