904 slip yoke?
« on: June 13, 2002 - 12:31:29 AM »
i had to have a driveshaft made to fit the 8 3/4 rear, so i decided to go with the big 7290 u-joint since mopar performance had a slip yoke part #p5007410 it said"26 spline, 904 with the 7290 joint".but after i got it all together and tried to install it, the splines are different. it will go into the trans but jumps over the teeth. i counted the teeth on the output shaft and it was 26,the orginal yoke has 25 and the new one that don't fit is 26

so are the two different yokes, are what? and do you know somebody else that makes or sells them?

geez that sucks to try upgrading and get kicked for it ..how about having a machine shop cut off and weld the correct splined yoke to the better driveline? the only other thing would be get the right trans output for that shaft that has the correct splines you need...
