Question on T/A engine valve covers
« on: December 08, 2012 - 05:24:49 PM »
After owning it for over 20 years I finally had to get the motor in my AAR rebuilt this fall. It had been acting kind of tired the last couple of summers so we tore it apart and rebuilt/restored the entire engine. When I bought the car back in 1987 it came with chrome valve covers. I wanted it rebuilt to a totally stock look and had bought a set of used T/A valve covers off ebay a couple of years ago. They just didn't quite measure up to what I was hoping for as they had quite a few problems.  I ordered a set of repop ones over 3 months ago that seem to be stuck on back order. I don't have any idea who the manufacture is of these(possibly AMD?). Does anyone know if these have actually ever been made or are they one of the items that are listed but you hope come in your lifetime? And if they have been produced does anyone have any experience with them or should I spend my spare time looking for a better set of originals? Any input or help would be greatly appreciated :1zhelp:.
Thanks Charlie

Wow!  Now that is bizarre.  So you can't find stock valve covers for the T/A engine, just like you can't find rockers, valves, etc. and many other things for it.  It is amazing so little is made for these engines and cars.  They are rare, but not that rare.
