Restoration Questions about 1973 'Cuda
« on: January 02, 2013 - 10:16:18 AM »
Do I need to pull the windows to replace headliner in 73 Cuda? Also, any tips on the place to buy the headliner to stay as factory as possible. Thanks.

No you don't have to pull the windows to replace the headliner.  However if you're doing it yourself it makes it a hell of a lot easier with the windows out.  If you're having an interior shop replace the headliner, then they are probably used to doing the install and having the windows in won't be an issue.

If your headliner is the same as on my 73 Challenger it's the black fabric with a corduroy-type pattern.

http://www.smsautofabrics.com has a dead match for this fabric. I got a sample of it and compared it directly to mine and I'm pretty sure it's as spot as as it gets.

Member "burdar" is doing an awesome restoration of a 73 Challenger... not sure where he got his headliner. He's a good resource for restoring a '73 for sure, though. He's been very meticulous.
