LA to Magnum head Conversion water pump to intake hose?
« on: January 02, 2013 - 07:06:02 PM »
What the heck?  The molded hose from an LA water pump will not correctly route to the Edelbrock Magnum intake water inlet.  Does anybody make a different hose for this?  I tried to cut some regular hose and curve it but there is no way that won't end up leaking.

I tried to attach this before but it didn't take.  I think I might just use two molded "stock" hoses and Frankenstein them together with a double male fitting to make it work.  The bends are just too tight to do it any other way as far as I know.  As it sits, you can almost put a finger in the intake end of the hose!

I wonder if a molded hose for a BB Buick or SB  Ford would work? Or what about an
90 deg. elbow?

The hose out of the water neck comes out at a slight angle and not in line with the intake fitting.  I could try several different ones but I'll have to do some research on the other types first.  It's those little details that get you caught up!

I had to do this once, I cut down the factory LA hose and hooked it up. Has a very small kink on the driver's side. Never had an over heating issue, or even a leak. Oh, on a side note you will have to use a magnum specific thermostat on that intake, as the opening isn't large enough to accommodate a high flow LA style thermostat.

What about a 90 deg. fitting on the intake and use these 2  connection to run your heater core  from?( if your running a heater core?) Then it would loop it back.
