1974 BARRACUDA HEADERS SUGGESTION
« on: February 24, 2013 - 09:37:06 PM »
I am in need of replacing my 1973 360 Barracuda's headers,  the headers that are currently in use are Hooker competition long headers that hang to low on the drivers side in which I am always scraping/hitting speed bumps/dips with or when the suspension is bottomed out.Yesterday, I ground off/flattened about 1/4 of the tube diameter when going over a dip in the road and now are worn thru and leaking. Also, I am not a big fan of the tie rod passing between the 2 forward down tubes of this header. Can anyone recommend a header by manufacturer and part# that corrects the problem of the drivers side header from hanging so low. What I am looking for is a higher tighter header. Thanks

Another Doug's fan here.  I compared the price to tti's and you can get fully coated Doug's for less than a set of bare tti

Whatever brand you choose, please do yourself a favor and spring for the ceramic coated headers.

The first time I took my car on a ride over an hour on the hiway with bare tubes, I got a hot foot. I swear it felt like, my left shoe was melting into the carpet.   :o

Thanks for the suggestions, I drove out to the TTI factory in Corona and picked up a set of their ceramic coated headers.
