Mecum Auctions

New to looking for a Cuda and wondering if Mecum auction cars are all consignments or does Mecum buy some? On their web-site I see a 70 plum crazy 440 Cuda I'd love to have that's being auctioned later this month but going back to previous auctions in other States, I see the same Cuda and it didn't hit minimum bid. Wondering if the owner follows Mecum auctions around or does Mecum buy some cars to auction themselves?

I posted a link to another 440 Cuda to get opinions here and it suddenly showed as Sold on the dealers web-page, then I saw the same Cuda advertised on the Mecum web-site being sold at the upcoming Indiana auction. I contacted the dealer where I saw it originally and he confirmed it was sold.

Just curious if the auction houses buy cars or are they all consignments?

Most (almost all -99%) are consigned.  Please go to the auctions to avoid surprises.  They look real good under the lights!  By the all auctions are buyer beware, where you are having to trust your judgement and someone's word that everything is fine (both mechanically and electrically).  I witnessed cars that had no brakes -none!
