Convertible rear view mirror interchangeability question.

Howdy folks,

I searched and found a partial answer.... Sounds like the bottom of hardtop and convertible rear view mirrors are the same but, knowing the plastic bezel is different, are the uppermost metal mounting brackets the same? In other words, could I use a complete hardtop mirror assembly with my convertible bezel?

Any help is appreciated!
