NORWALK Monster Mopars
« on: August 26, 2013 - 10:19:51 PM »
Anyone planning on going to this. Used to be in Indy, but moved to Norwalk this year. It wasn't near as big as the "Nats"
but still a nice small show. And the racing is better too.
If I cant fix it, it's broke

I'll be there. Its not the biggest or greatest show (well judging from when it was the classic), but has good racing and is only a half hour drive for me - so it's hard to pass up.

That has possibilities . . . If I can get the convertible back together by then, I may drive it down!   2 1/2 hour ride at 160 miles . . . certainly doable . . .  :2thumbs:

Wonder how much it is for just Saturday non judged car show?  Gates close at 6:00pm . . . I could still make dinner with the woman . . . .  :2thumbs:

It's a lot steeper compared to years past when it was the classic. I want to say it was 20-25 bucks a day before (I usually just went on Saturday). If you're taking your car it's 60 bucks for judged and 50 for non-judged, I would imagine the car fee is for two days - if it isn't then I probably won't go back again with my car and will just do daily spectator for 20 dollars.

Well I agree . . . if it is 50 bucks for one day of non judged, count me out . . .  :grinno:

Went to the show on Saturday. Talk about a disappointment.  :wow:  I could count the new vendors on one hand.
The swap meet was quite small compared to last year. There were a lot of nice cars, though nothing really stuck
out as wild or different.  And the racing was good. There was a (supposed) wheel standing cuda but he didn't get very far
before starting to veer off course, so he had to drop the front end back on the ground. I'll look to see if I have
any pictures worthy of showing. Sure hope Josh changes something for next year.

Yeah, it wasn't exactly the biggest show around - it didn't seem well publicized. I was actually surprised there were as many cars as there were considering how little I heard about the show. All that being said, I thought it was okay. The 50-60 dollar entrance fee was a little steep, but at least I got a trophy for it. Although, it seemed there there were enough trophies for just about anyone who entered, which might be why it was so expensive. Next year, they should lower the class count and subsequently, the entrance fee. The fee didn't match the venue - seemed more like a 30-40 dollar show.......

The 50 - 60 dollar range is what kills me. . . .

Did you make it up there Dave?

If it gets advertised better next year I will go again, otherwise it might be the first time I missed Norwalk since the first time I went back in 99 or 2000.
