It's a fact that none of us here know everything, but between the collective group we can usually give pretty good advice.  Don't sweat this one man, you normally give real good advice.  Also, I don't think you were wrong, just not a right as you normally are.   ;)

My cuda was in primer for 15 years before I top coated it. I used an old primer that you can't get now called K-200 and it was very  durable. I raced the car for 12 years and washed it once a year and all I did to finish paint it was to wet sand it down and shoot it.
