seems a Holley HP 750 DP mechanical secondaries would make you the most power.
Ya, EDe's don't make big power from my experience
72 Cuda, owned 25 years. 496, with ported Stage VI heads, .625 in solid roller, 254/258 at .050, 3500 stall, 3.91 rear. 850 Holley DP, Reverse manual valve body.

1999 Trans Am, LS1, heads, cam, headers, stall, etc! Love to surprise the rice rockets with this one. They seem so confident, then it's "what the heck just happened?"

understand, but there are times on the street when you want to put your foot into it.
All depends what your goals are I suppose. I have built my street Cuda to go as fast as
possible, and not lose to anyone, if possible. (All within a budget of course).
I accept there is always someone who can beat you. It just hasn't happened yet.
I may be immature, but I just don't like to lose.
Probably any 750 Holley will make you all the power you can use. Maybe some good
deals on Ebay. Otherwise, Summit seems to have the best prices.

I'd suggest a proform or quickfuel carb and a air/fuel ratio gauge to tune it with. Those two carbs  have much more adjustablility than a standard Holley. :2cents:

Had thought that Holleys win more races at the track than any other carb?

They are based on the Holley design. Just with more adjustments.

Just fitted a Holley Ultra Street Avenger

770 CFM with vacuum secondaries on a 340 stroked to 416.  Engine dyno's at 465 HP and 530 ft/lbs.  I replaced an Edelbrock Performer 750.  The car runs smoother and stronger than the Edelbrock, which fell on its face fro 1000 to 1500 RPM with an Edelbrock air Gap Manifold.

Buy or borrow this carb.  I did not TOUCH it other than bolting it on...no adjustments.

What the man said. The new Holleys have all the idle and air bleed adjustments that the others do. That doesn't mean the carb tuner's carbs aren't worth it; it just means they're usually a significant amount of money, more. Carbs can be like women- pick the one that makes you happy and that works for/with you. Good luck.

on my old 440 Cuda, going from a 750 EDE to a 750 Holley DP picked me up about 30 hp.

Pretty nice! Question is, what does the Holley have that this doesn't? I think a Holley is almost
$200 more?
