1970 Challenger 440 Magnum Brake Booster Check Valve Cover
« on: February 14, 2013 - 02:58:58 PM »
Whatsup honorable Mopar Senseis?
Grasshopper needs some help. Have a 1970 Challenger 440-4bbl. Has power brakes with discs up front & drums in back. Last time I drove it brake pedal was extremely hard....had to stand on it practically to stop. Did some checking around under hood & noticed what appears to be a cap or cover missing on the brake booster check valve. With cap missing, it appears manifold vac is now just sucking air instead of brake boosting. Question is, can one of these caps be easily purchased, can I rig something up to seal this off or will I need to completely replace the check valve? Any and all assistance appreciated.

Easier to just replace it with a new one.  In my opinion.   Yer driving it, so it isn't a show matchin numbers trailer queen.

Yes, get one at almost any auto parts store. You are talking about the check valve where vacuum hose is attached to it.
