Why not bypass this altogether and use solid motor mounts or how bout these!

Just got them and you couldn't tell from the outside it has a steel structure underneath.

A chain has been my "go-to" solution in the past, but was curious if there might be a better/cleaner option out there to consider this time around

An old trick was to bolt the drivers side motor mount together. leaving the bolts loose so the rubber mount could move but not give on torque. I raced my 440 E- body with drag radials like that for years with no problems. If you can buy a mount like the one from 440 source I'd recomend it.

what i do is buy the solid mounts and only use on on the drivers side that way the pass side still has some give to it to prevent vibrations. my car has been like this for 10 years with zero problems.

I built a simple strap to go from the engine mount bolt on the block across the rubber isolator to the mount cross pin bolt , fits on the rear & is nearly impossible to see

You could try an industrial depot, or even adapt the cable from a pickup trucks tailgate. They have eyelets on both ends ans will hold a few hundred pounds.

Just go old school and use a chain.

Thats what my friend did with his RT/SE 440.  Unfortunately he was always breaking the chain.  :money:  So his hood had a ding it it from the engine rising and hitting it.  :dupe:

this is what i have on the car..schumacher poly-loc mounts..no chains or turnbuckles or bars needed.

http://www.engine-swaps.com/Pages/ProductsType/PolyLoc.html

poly-loc mounts,,lets the motor shake,,,"shaker" but cannot rise,,hard to use the other choices with power steering..

I always put mine on the back of the motor (under the master cylinder).  Pretty well hidden back there.
