It's hard for me to tell from your deck lid pictures BUT it looks like a 1971 style.

You'll need to cut large square holes in your trunk lid. Look at the red lid pictures...The brackets are sitting in the holes.

If you ask me, it looks like the curved portion of the brackets are bent the wrong direction.

that's what I thought the top bend is going in the wrong direction??...hmm I gotta cut the bottom  brace on the lid to get it to sit correctly???

In your picture holding the bracket....The section your thumb is on, the flat section with two large holes needs to sit so that it's parallel with the surface of the deck lid.

yes in that pic it is altho it will not sit perfectly flat..i'm thinking this is not a 72 decklid or something like that  as the ebay pic the lid looks like mine but the bracket does not?

Take a look at the second picture down in this link. TinCuda writes that his car was a "late build", maybe it got a '72 - '74 style one. Whatever the case, yours is definately not a 1970.

ok i got my go wing in today..i would love to mount it this weekend!!...i have all the brackets etc..but no instructions or exploded views....i certainly dont want to drill holes in the wrong spot...that will make a grown man cry!!..any help would be apreciated...thanks!!

Hi, Madmaxx. Congratulations on getting the wing. You are definitely in good hands with the members here which, combined with your savvy desire to "measure twice, cut once" is a good thing, based on what the chap who sold me my '73 Challenger advised me.
He is a machinist by trade and he told me in passing as we worked our way up to a deal that, had he followed the instructions that came with his wing, he would have wound up drilling the mounting holes off center, by quite a bit.
A chill ran up my spine when he said that and he said that, had it not been for his pre-existing experience in (and passion for) measuring and cutting metal that, he could not see anyway that he would not have followed those d*mn directions, they appeared to be "just right."
I only pass this along so that your desire to get that wing on your baby doesn't get you ahead of the coaching of the members here!
Also, the wife and I plan to drive over and start our cars and let 'em run awhile today so, if I do and in the off chance anything I cna to will assist you, I'll try and remember to snap some photos, as well.

UPDATE / ADD PHOTOS (2/11/13): Dude, sorry for the delay; got the pics snapped Saturday but, well, bad situation here at home . . .

Anyhoo, like I said before, I don't know if these pics of my '73 Chally will 'apply', let alone 'help' you but, I'd much rather you have 'em and not need 'em than vice versa (the brackets on mine sure do NOT look anything like the ones shown so far . . . !).

slsc98..thanks..i just did not think it was gonna be this tuff to mount the wing.....so i have just put it on hold until i can get brackets like on the ebay car..that car has the same lid as mine..now i just need to find those brackets...then i think with the dimensions on the one pic..i could begin to lay it out....its killing me to see it in the box and not on the car!!..lol...patience!!!..hey nice challenger btw!

You can kinda see where the brackets are and how they are inset here.

I wouldn't screw around with mounting a wing, if you are hesitant then find someone who has done it before.

thanks for the pic hp-cuda..but my decklid is not like yours  it looks to me that you have the 70 lid..mine is def not a 70 lid..i see that i will have to cut an access hole on the p.s. side so i can put the bolts/nuts in...i've installed spoilers before just not on a cuda...not afraid.. just cautious...it just seems like i dont have the right bracket for my lid..thats all   there is a pic from ebay of the underside of a rear lid (73 cuda i think)..it shows my style lid and a different bracket..that they didnt have to cut into the bottom of the lid...my only fault with that one is the lack of the nut securing the spoiler to the lid..which i would cut and access point to to that part...i must be over thinking all this.....thanks for the replys

hey thanks for the pics....i contacted who i bought the wing from..they confirmed i have the wrong brackets and are sending the ones they believe are correct!....hopefully i can finish it up soon and post a pic!!..lol
