Front struts
« on: February 23, 2013 - 07:08:05 PM »
Hi, guys new to this site, and here's one of I'm sure many dumb questions. I am rebuilding the front suspension on my71 barracuda,it was taken apart long ago and tossed into box. Turns out it was totaled twice in the late 70s so that just adds to the problem . Looking at the struts they are the same length but one seems to have a built in washer. Not sure if it is driver or pass side or if its even stock to the car. Using lower controller arms from a cuda so I can use a sway bar. Any help would be greatly apricieated  thanks tony

They are interchangable. Washer is probably rusted to the strut.  :2cents:

If you don't have one, I'd recommend getting the CD copy of the Field Service Manual, or FSM. This will be an invaluable asset to figuring out where everything in those boxes goes.

I agree with dodj, its robably just stuck on there. They do come off.

BTW, Welcome!
