what is this?

yesterday I went to buy some parts from a friend of the man I recently bought a 73 challenger from. I bought a mystery 4 speed and shifter combo. I know what the trans is but what of this shifter? picture attached. bracket is what throws me. as It is the first one I have ever seen. thanks for all help Steve. ps shifter is a super shifter and has straight rods with reverse haveing a bend about half way here is the number off mounting plate. 0041 02

I'll guess that is a Hurst shifter from back in the day. I have seen them, but I have no idea how they work.

Hurst shifter with mounting bracket, you'll have to find out what body it was made for.

Best guess its for a B body but it could be for an E-body.

could  be from an 80s Dodge van , they raise the shifter up higher but the ones I am familiar with are different

If you move the reverse linkage out you should see a number stamping on it.

This will let you know what type of car hurst shifter this one is for.
