I am looking to do a disc brake conversion on my car as outlined in the
www.moparaction.com tech archive, and i've been scouring the junkyards for parts. I haven't found the spindles yet, but I did get an aluminum master cylinder off of an 88 ram with power disc brakes. It looks just like the one in their pictures with the black plastic reservoir with the two screw off caps. I think the article said that this would work, but I wanted to check and make sure. I will be staying with manual brakes, and I checked and it does have the cup for the pushrod.
Now another question, I was extremely fortunate to look over my shoulder while I was pulling that master cylinder and spot a 74 challenger disc brake car. The spindles and rotors and calipers are gone, but the iron master cylinder and brake lines are still there along with a cast iron distribution block of some kind about halfway down the drivers side inner fender. I dont want to bother with the old rusty lines and block if I can get the stuff new or dont need it, but here's my golden opportunity if thats something that would make the swap better/easier/cleaner. What do you think?
