Hood pin direction?
« on: March 08, 2013 - 04:28:07 PM »
Do the hood pins slide in from the side or from front to back?
I've seen them both ways.  Can someone post a pict of a correctly installed hood pin.
Thanks

Here are some factory drawing excerpts to back this up.

It's bad enough that people "trying to help" scratch your hood pulling them out.   :swear:
Wouldn't want to scratch the fenders too.

I already have fears of this. Does anyone make a pin with a bit less spring too them, these things pull out pretty hard.

thats the way mine are installed, and though I have seen other installed sideways, I just instinctively knew those were wrong.
You do have to be careful when pulling them because you can scratch the paint. When you own a car like one of these, and especially if its a trailer queen, you learn how to carefully open and close things  You certainly dont treat it like you would a 10 year old beater
