How to clean

Hi, all ideas welcome as to how best to clean door handle/lock mechinisum. Also , what is the proper finish on these wiper arms ? paint, galv ,zinc ?

I put mine in a plastic bucket and poured in Evaporust.

Every 15-20 minutes, slosh it around. That way it gets inside all the inaccessable areas. Evaporust breaks down old grease and dirt stuck on fairly well also. Use a small nylon brush to rub off stubborn areas.

The door locks are clear zinc plated.  The wiper mechanisms are black zinc plated.

For a quick general cleaning, I recommend some thinner/wax and grease remover,ans a soft bristle brush.
Then a quick bath to clean the chemicals out.
If that doesn't work,
Go out to a paint shop and try to pick up some DX579 rust converter

I dunked my hood latch and park brake in that stuff, and they came out like they were brand new.

I've noticed that Evaporust evaporates.

After whatever I de rusted, I pour it back in the jug with a funnel and there's less than what I started.
