E-body engine wiring and MSD
« on: July 11, 2012 - 09:17:18 AM »
Hey gang..

Question:
Putting together my friend's '71 Challenger R/T. He has bought all new harnesses.. He purchased the engine harness that incorporates the Chrysler-electronic ignition. But, he's planning to install MSD on it. Soooo, should he have a regular harness or will I be able to used the Electronic-version and just go ahead and install?

The ECU plug is obsolete unless you use an MSD using the 5 pin connector . the red trigger wire has to be connected to the blue & brown wire at the ballast so it will start & run

We ended up just getting a completely new OEM harness, so no "unused terminals" now... Looks nice and tidy...
