OEM radiator/heater's hose clamps
« on: March 26, 2013 - 10:45:02 PM »
Hi everyone

I would like to know if you guys put something between the hose and water pump housing and/or rad to make a good seal when using OEM factory clamps

Thanks!

Robert

I use aviation Permatex on mine, no leaks.
A little difficult if you you need to remove them.

I use black 3M Weather-strip adhesive. Never had a problem.
I've taught you everything you know.....but I haven't taught you everything I know !

I just put them on without any added sealer, though I did wimp out on the lower rad hose my homemade cosby clamp pliers couldn`t squeeze it open wide enough to fit over the water pump neck. I used a regular hose clamp there and did the walk of shame! :walkaway:

I used weatherstrip adhesive after hearing that's what Alan uses.  I havn't had any issues.
