Hi, Im a new member here. Recently purchased a 71 challenger 318 car. It was a parts car but the frame and most metal with the exception of the typical rust areas is in pretty good shape. It is missing the entire front clip and I didnt realize how hard it would be to find a used grill and headlight bezels for it. There are some NOS ones on ebay but are they ever expensive!! It's going to be a couple of years to finish it so if I can't find a reasonable one out there before then I think I will just put in a 70 grill or maybe get a custom one made.

One thing that I need to do is replace the "A" pillar (I think that's what its called) the pillar on the windshield driver side. Does anyone know the process for doing that? How do I get to the joint under the roof skin? If anyone has ever had to do one I would greatly appreciate some advice on that.

Thanks a bunch.

Welcome!
Here is a good place to find parts, grills turn up from time to time. If you near Carlisle PA you should come to the show. I'm sure you will find anything you need there!

First, welcome to the site. Second, why do you have to change the A pillar? Rot, collision? The reason I ask, is that there are repair panels for the lower section and doing the whole thing will require going up into the roof. Pictures of the problem?

Thanks Jimynick. I will try to get some pics up in the next day or two. Basically there is about a 1 inch long and 1/4 inch deep gouch in the upper pillar.
