Hi all,
Just getting back into getting the car ready for this spring/summer. I've just returned from yet another deployment and every time I go for the first run there are issues....dead battery, carb gummed, old fuel....etc...
This year I decided to do a couple things to help that first start so I dumped a bottle of octane boost and carb treatment into the tank. It's only got like 4-6 gallons in there (old fuel), so I'm hoping if I idle it for a little while the carb should clean up quickly. I also pulled the coil and primed the oil pump; I'm not sure if this is necessary, but I did it any way. I blasted the air bleeds and fuel feeders on the holley with carb cleaner, hoping this may help with the lack of idle and hiccups.
Is there a good way to prime the fuel system? I usually dump a little in the carb, but the bowls are empty for a while.....
Other than charging the battery, any other ideas to expedite a spring time cruise?
Thanks,
Kevin
